The character's here all feel interesting and exciting. For me the chapters up to this are making the space for this rich scene, where you get to see one side of how things play out for a slice of people. The Clippers reminded me of The Businessman from The Little Prince, while not being derivative but playing in the same space. I like that Mauricio and Carmen are in this thread before being more explored in other places. I like that the character's aren't good and also are making no real effort to be conventionally good or bad or anything, they just seem to be expressions of their ideology. It was cool seeing the points of view get wrestled back and forth, and the burning ring of money could be nicely saturated without feeling silly.
