The final draft is finished

I finished the ~final draft yesterday morning, on America’s 250th birthday! Here’s a little short I made about it:
It’s about 85% completely re-written. I think it’s really good??? You can tell me.
Editing it was a herculean task. Last month, I cut it down from ~730 pages to ~460 pages. So I basically cut the length of a novel out of my novel. 😮 Some of the cuts were great material, so hopefully Psychofauna will become as popular as Harry Potter and publishers will demand a sequel.
I listened to you beta readers and now this new draft is much tighter and a lot easier to follow. It focuses mainly on the relationship between the teenage anthropologist Dante and his best frenemy, Mikey, as they contend with the psychofauna that are pulling them apart.
Next up: I’m going to start looking for an agent to get it published…hopefully before the ideological chaos of the 2028 election. In the meantime, I want to thank you all for sticking with me as I spent 7 years writing this thing!
Below I offer paid subscribers of this Substack an advance reader copy to download. If you can’t afford a subscription, just message me and I’ll send you the book. It’s more important to me that people read it than I make money from it. =)
